Feed Your Musical Brain
Stop daydreaming about how to get signed to a record label and attend a music conference. Music industry conferences are excellent platforms to get discovered for a few reasons. To start, music conference are mostly geared toward education. The average artist is more concerned with performing that they don’t even consider going to a music conference to learn even though most music conferences over a performance segment.
Alternately, music conferences may offer music feedback sessions. Outside of getting to perform or play your music, you get to network with people who legitimately work in the music industry. You’ve heard the saying “It’s who you know,” right? That’s partly correct. The other part of that which people don’t often share, is that it’s who knows you. By not attending music conferences, you’re limited the number of people who could know you. Those same people could be in a position to get you a record deal.
While there’s no rhyme or reason for learning how to get signed to a record deal, be smart and make intelligent educated decisions. Choosing to attend a credible music conference can change your life, especially if you’re music is amazing. Trust me, I’ve seen it happen more than once.
